Add CD Drive model to PMM recognized list?

Anyone know how to adjust the "recognized" list of CD Recorders that PMM will talk to?  I've got an NEC ND-3550A which PMM will read from but will not burn to.

PMM claims to detect the NEC ND-3530, and nothing higher.   I understand that these drives are different, but certainly just sending to the windows API should be sufficient?   

I've had similar issues with burning software before and some registry and/or file tweaks (sometimes as simple as putting in a model number as recognized) is enough to make things work well enough.
