Okay, What in the heck is going on with the forums where it constantly marks a whole sections threads as NEW messages when there are no new posts or updates?
Thats getting really annoying. is this a cookie issue or perhaps something server side?

...and me
also there doesn't seem to be a sensible way to go directly to the latest post in a forum or a "view posts since last visit" thingy. Am i missing something or is yabb just a bit crap compared to say phpbb?

Try clicking on the "Mark All Posts as Read" button on the main forum page. Tell me if the problem persists after that.
Mark: Try asking for features before calling the software "crap" because it doesn't have them.

I think it's something probably to do with ether cookies, or... if the server "moves" address (IP) then the borwser marks everything as unread
Paul... ar you on a fixed IP, or are you on something like a cable/isdn pipe?

No. It has to do with the log files, actually. There is a log file for every user which contains the "new post" information. The frequency that these log files are being deleted is the problem.

Okay, I've changed the way that temp files are handled and stored and changed the icon for "no new posts." Hopefully this will get the feature working correctly (and the icon makes it easier to see).
