I cannot seem to find out why my computer keeps telling me that it cannot eject my DMS because somethings still accessing it.

I've done all of the normal stuff, like Norton AV, disabling Screen saver, Windows Media Player. I've opened Task Manager and ended all that I knew what they were. But it still won't eject!

I'm wanting to know what other people have tried.

rebooting will let you eject it.  when the PC is in the reboot process (before the starting windows screen) you can remove it safely.

you could also try killing explorer.exe and see if that fixes it.

I think I've just fiqured it out. I've got Norton System Works and it has a feature called Norton Protection. I think it works in conjuction with the Recycle Bin(Trash Can). But each drive has its own settings whether you want to enable it or not. I just highlighted the PHTSYS & PHTDTA and de-activated it. So from now on I'll check that if it doesn't eject.

Google and MSN Desktop Search can also interfere with drive removal.

So far after un-enabling it, I've got it ejecting fine. I think that that same thing might have been interfering with Phatvoice also. I'm going to run it in a little while.
