I know this is a bit late, but I haven't had the need to look into Phatnoise related products and news since buying one back in 2004.  Any way, had the beta firmware since then and works like a champ.  Unlike the downloadable 3.00 infiniti firmware, this firmware displays text.  No random of playlist though.  It will display song name and artist via scrolling text.  I don't have the original zip files, but can zip my PHTSYS partition folder.

Subject: FW: [Bug 7088] New: infiniti beta firmware

Hello,

Thank you for purchasing the PhatNoise Car Audio System! Unlike some other Infiniti models, the G35 is not capable of displaying CD-Text.  The PhatBox ships with CD changer emulation firmware.  CD changer firmware will not display track titles.

Of course, the G35 supports satellite radio which displays text.  We have beta firmware that emulates satellite radio.  Here are the instructions:

1.  Backup CD changer firmware - Insert DMS in USB cradle.  Copy all the

contents of the PHTSYS partition to your computer.
2.  Copy SAT firmware - Download the following files:
http://www.dailyphat.com/firmware/files/headunit_0x4800_1_00.zip
http://www.dailyphat.com/firmware/files/playerfiles_030621.zip
http://www.dailyphat.com/firmware/files/daemonfiles_030621.zip
http://www.dailyphat.com/firmware/files/systemfiles_030621_SAT.zip
Unzip them to your PHTSYS partition, overwriting any files.
4.  Eject - Safely eject your DMS and bring it to your PhatBox.
5.  Start PhatBox update - Insert the DMS in the PhatBox.  Turn on your radio.
6.  Wait for PhatBox update - The PhatBox will boot (red light on) and then start to reprogram (red light on, green light blinking).  Once the green light starts blinking, go ahead and turn off your radio and take your keys out of the ignition.  Programming will take about 5 minutes.  When the PhatBox is done reprogramming it will shut down.
7.  Test updated PhatBox - Turn on the radio and press SAT.  The PhatBox will be sourced.

Please note:  Random is not supported in this version of the SAT firmware, but will be added in following releases.

Please let us know if you need further assistance. We appreciate any feedback that you are able to provide.

Best regards,
