i purchased this phatnoise unit from ebay thinking mine was on its way out. turns out the cable was lose. oops.. I bought it w/o a cable since the seller left in their car. but a cable can be purchased on ebay for about 20 bucks. its in perfect working condition, and comes with the main unit, 20gig DMS (with music loaded on it), usb DMS cradle, owners manual and the software disk (works on xp machines only). the unit has not been hacked to allow larger hdds to be used.
as far as the Phatnoise media manager can be run on a virtual XP machine or you can get the phathack media manager that works on vista and W7.
im looking to get back what i paid for it so my asking price is 90.00 shipped OBO.
