Hi everyone,
I have a VW Phatbox hacked to work with a Kenwood headunit, everything was working fine.  I also had the VOIT hack on it. The DMS is hacked too.
Now I got a new car with a VW premium V headunit and wanted to use the Phatbox with this one.
I loaded the VW firmware on the DMS and connected the unit. The green light starts blinking slowly and stays like that forever.

Does anyone have a worked out procedure to adapt my Phatbox to the VW premium V headunit? Might the VOIT hack be a problem or the previous forceupdate files? Do I have to run the hack procedure again?

Any recommendations are appreciated.
:) Peter

if this is a 2006 or 2007 for example the phatboxes don't work with the newer head unit's changer protocol.

Hi,
the VW headunit is from a 2000 Passat, called Premium V, which should work from what I know.

well the new car bit threw me off so I had to ask.

As far as I know that head unit should work. rename the plugin folder and see what that does.

you could try formatting phtsys and loading the vw firmware on it to see if that helps too.

Thanks everyone,
for your suggestions. I got it to work.
I removed the forceupdate file and the plugins folder but I think it was the ramdisk.sig renaming that did the trick and the following Phatd.sig rename to ramdisk.sig.

I think whenever you have a fast flashing green LED try this.

If you had to mess up your ramdisk it means the patches are not all applied... you need to finish it so you don't have this problem again in the future.
