HDD Swapping Issues
« on: October 06, 2007, 07:37:36 pm »
Hi,

I've been on here for a couple days, doing as much research as possible and now I am stuck.

I was following the wiki procedure carefully and didn't go very far after the preparing part. I put the factory 10gb dms into my music keg, turned it on, and it just shut off. The unit wasn't even detecting it. So then I went to disconnect it, turned it back on, put the DMS back inside and it shut off again.

At this point, I just tried to create a new DMS with an older 20gb I had laying around. After formatting it, loading it with the latest Kenwood firmware and adding the hack, my unit just reads "EJECT"

So, now I'm just trying to restore the factory drive's SYS partition, and I seem to be having trouble doing that. I tried overwriting the changes with the backup files, and still it just shuts off. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

NEVERMIND I GOT THE FACTORY WORKING AGAIN...

I guess now I should start the process over again...

I like this site, I hope I get everything running the way I'd like. :)

You admins and programmers gave everyone with a keg/box some hope!
