DMS with a solid state drive !!!
« on: May 06, 2008, 09:49:47 pm »
Anybody had any joy in fitting a solid state 2.5" IDE drive into a DMS. Using the old DMS tools it took 28 hours to build a 32GB DMS which works fine using Music Manager, but fails with "error retrieving drive ID" in any versions of Media Manager. Using any of the Windows DMS tools it fails to format using "create New DMS" ???

I don't see why it would be any different than any other drive... the PMM issues happen with many drives, but you can try an older version to work-around it I think... somebody seemed to manage to get the error to go away by doing something, try some forum searches ;)

I have the "error retrieving drive ID" error only with PMM 3.92 (for my Samsung 160G drive).  Did you try 3.76?

What is the brand/model of the SSD that you are using?

I am trying to use a Transcend TS32GSSD25-M SSD drive, but the Keg won't read the DMS (green light blinks 3 times followed by green rapid flashing). The DMS works fine in the cradle.

Maybe a daft question - apologies in advance if so - but is your Phatbox already hacked?
