New Phatbox not working

I tried to install a new BMW Phatbox in my 2004 BMW X5 over the weekend. It doesn't work at all. When I insert the DMS and then connect the power I get nothing. No lights at all. I took the Phatbox to another BMW with a working Phatbox system and it will not work in the other BMW as well. Is there anything I can test or fix inside the Phatbox unit? I've tested the Blitzsafe and the DMS and they work fine in the other BMW so the problem seems to be that the "new" Phatbox is dead.
