Getting New Phatbox

Long story, but my PhatBox was killed and VW is giving me a new one (new box, cartridge, cradle, everything).  I didn't hack the old one, but would like to increase HD size in new one.  Is there anything I should do before messing with the virgin cartridge?  VW is doing the install (and so will be doing whatever is needed with the cartridge for the install before I get my hands on it).  Are the cartridges married to the cradle or software, or can I use two cradles on different computers with the same cartridge?

You can use either your new or old cartridge to apply the hack to your new box.  The only restrictions that the un-hacked boxes have in terms of cartridges is that you must use an original PhatNoise-sourced disk.

Cradles can be used anywhere with no restrictions.

It's all very straight forward.
