Need a bit of help..
« on: February 04, 2009, 03:05:57 am »
I've tried searching, not really sure what to search for.. I typed "deletes" "disappears" etc..

Anyway, I did the hack with a common drive on here, worked out fine, except when I put the DMS in it takes 5-10 minutes to load, and while it's loading all window processes stop working (mainly anything related to explorer.exe) this includes window folders, the start menu/bar..

I didn't mind that so much, I could have lived with it, but now.. everytime I put my DMS in the cradle, PMM deletes all my discs.. the files still remain on the drive however, and seeing that I have a lot of discs, it takes me an hour to replace them/rename them. Also, recovering them doesn't work.

Any advice is highly appreciated. I'll continue searching and I'll post my results if I find them.

Thanks

I'm using a seagate 160gig drive
audi phatbox 7.02 firmware
PMM 1.87

I updated the PMM to 2.30 still with no luck.

Also tried changing the firmware.

I think I have a currupt file.. but when I changed the firmware in phtsys, does it replace everything?

Alright, I seemed to have fixed my problem.

I right clicked on the phtsys drive, went to properties, then clicked the tool tab. I clicked on the error checking option then checked only the first box which said something like "fix errors".  I ran the scan and it fixed my issue.. if this doesn't work, also try doing it to the phtdta drive.

I still have the issue with the lagging/5-10 minute delay where window programs freeze when I put the dms drive into the cradle.

That sounds like a combination of Windows AutoPlay run amok and some remaining errors on the DMS. I'd suggest doing a search for disable windows autoplay to find a solution that works for your version of Windows.

Also, do the "fix errors" process on the PHTDTA drive.

Note that if you have hardware errors on the DMS, this would be a good time to do the hack (if you haven't already) and replace the drive.
