PMM keeps shutting down

I've been using PMM for years now and have never had any problems. I just upgraded my computer (OS:XP) and decided to add some songs to my DMS cartridge. So I installed the version that came with my KHD-C710 which i believe was 1.80. Everything started fine, but whenever I click the  device tab the program just shuts off. I can re-open it without any problem and do anything else with the program but whenever i click the device tab it just shuts off. I took the cartridge to my car and it still functions fine there with all the previous music that had already been loaded still there. I did run the DMS doctor test and it failed the fourth test. I even downloaded version 2.80 I think. Same problem. Any suggestions? I really appreciate any help.
