Volvo S60 Cable
« on: September 10, 2010, 12:28:05 pm »
Hi all,
Just sold my BMW and purchased a Volvo S60 .. now the question I have is as follows ?

I had the Phatbox connected to a Kenwood head in the BMW..one cable directly into the back of the Kenwood head unit (Din cable)...
Now i know that Volvo support the Phatbox .. I just need to know what I need to do...
Do i use the same cable? or are the pinouts different? and will the Kenwood cable even fit?

Help please...do not want to use an Ipod nor CD ...want to install the Phatbox..

Vortechs was very helpful last time i had problems.. can you help here.

Hi,

Volvo cabling is slightly different from Kenwood or BMW - most vehicles use different CD changer interfaces.

See here

You may be able to buy the needed cables from your Volvo dealer (depends which cables are already in the vehicle - such as if you have sat-nav or not), or if you can handle the soldering then you can fabricate your own following my guide at the above links.

Regards,

Les.
