Phatbox options

My 2004 Passat is on it's last legs and after 220K miles its ready for replacement. For various reasons I am looking at the new Golf Sportwagen.

Of course VW no longer supports the Phatbox and I don't think an iPod will work the way I want.. though I will try to an old 64 GB iPhone with filled with appleLossless files.

So here are options I see...

1. iPod (this might be a temporary solution)

2.  Moving my old Monsoon HU to the new car along with my 60GB PB. (Not keen on this)

3.  Finding a used Kenwood music keg and suitable Kenwood HU

4.  Getting correct cable to reuse the VW PB with a different Kenwood HU.

I can't think of any other possible options. I need a station wagon and not an SUV.

Any other ideas would be appreciated
