I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think you need to change anything. Of course the power must match what you have. I mean 120 or 220 volts (I don't remember if the adaptor is auto-sensing), but nothing else.
Maybe you could just check if the adapter is providing the right voltage. If it's not working it's a pretty standard one, so you could use another one. I've used a universal laptop adapter sometime.
If the adapter works you'll need to check if the cradle is working. And that's too much for me to help you
. I opened it once because the switch that turns it on when you put the DMS in it was broken, and I don't remember the electronics to be very complicated, but anyway too difficult for me.
Something else you can do: if your cradle doesn't work, you can use an USB-to-ATA adapter. The software works just fine with that setup too.
