AUDI Box - Questions after succesful hacking
« on: January 08, 2006, 04:36:41 pm »
Hi folks,

after trying and trying now my pahtbox works with the new 60 GB HDD.

After the patched Box didnt accept the new DMS, i found the hint about removing the forcesetting and the forceupdate file. That worked for me.

Now i want to use the old HDD as an normal external drive for my laptop. Is it safe to do that? Or will I need the old drive some day?

What if there will be an firmware update? Will that override the patch?

What if I buy the upgrade to Media Manager Plus?

Is there any other thing that can cause the Box to forget the patch?

Thanks in advance... [smiley=vrolijk_26.gif]

I would NOT suggest doing anything with the original DMS.. you really should keep it around incase other issues crop up..

While I don't forsee phatnoise putting out new firmware updates that somehow undo whats been done to disable the drive locks it is a posibility.. so having your original DMS used for other purposes (repartitioned for instance) would prevent its use to recover your phatbox if something like that ever were to happen.

As for if it is technically possible.. it sure is.. its just like a normal laptop hard drive so you could use it however a laptop hard disk could be used.
