Hi Alan
The easiest way to update the firmware is by using the advanced menu in Phatnoise Music manager.
1 Insert DMS
2 Hardware options
3 Firmware setup (tab at the top)
4 Advanced (button)
5 Select product
6 VW/Audi

Then follow the instructions this will update the firmware to the latest version.
If you are using media manager follow these instructions.

1 Insert DMS
2 tools
3 options
4 Firmware/plugins (left task plane)
5 update dms firmware
6 Next
7 Advanced
8 Select product
9 VW/Audi

Phatnoise Music Manager or Phatnoise Media Manager, depending on the version you have its name is slightly changed.  This software should have come with your unit.. or you can download it from phatnoise.com...

you can go into the options screen and update the DMS firmware from there.. just change it to whatever version phatbox you want to use.

So what you are saying is that this audi firmware is already available at the PMM software and I don't need to download anything from a external source. Now I found this url http://downloads.phathack.com/firmware/ which has Audi Firmware, can somebody explain what is the use of this firmware?

sorry for all these questions but I need to be sure before I start.

the phathack site is a mirror of the phatnoise firmware .. they took the firmware off line a few months ago but its back up now.. just use PMM and it is the safest option.
