Getting rid of Disc Numbering
« on: June 07, 2006, 07:34:37 am »
Is there any way to force PMM to remove playlist labels that show which "PLY [track]" is playing before the disc name?  I'm using a PB with a Sony system, and unfortunately Phatnoise's programming for the Sony control is flawed which causes long scrolling disc names to be cut off at the end of my display.  So I want to be able to read as many characters of the disc title as possible by getting rid of the disc # info that is tagged onto every playlist.  Anyone know of a way to turn this off, or hack the playlist file to make it so the text info sent to the cd player doesn't include this?

Is there no way to do this?

Maybe I'll try and write Phatnoise and ask them to fix the programming for the Sony Firmware.  It's a long shot but who knows?

Have you tried tweaking list_title_text in [Phatbox] section of phatbox.ini in the root of PHTSYS?
As per the sixpak site http://phatbox.sixpak.org/phatbox/unsupported.phtml

"list_title_text controls what will be displayed for the "list" (playlist/artist/album/genre) title. It can be any string. %t, %M, %m, and %n will be expanded to title, mode (long name), mode (short name), and list number, respectively."

Suggest you try setting:
list_title_text=%t

Ooooh, worked beautifully, thanks!!   :D

Now to get Phatnoise's attention and get them working on the Sony firmware issue...
