Newer BMW loses Sync with PB
« on: June 18, 2006, 11:29:55 pm »
Here's the story.  Trying to get a phatbox to work in a 2006 E46 M3.  This is not officially supported by Phatnoise but has the exact same CD changer interface as all the previous (99-2004) 3 series that are officially supported.

It does work except for one large issue.  After the car goes into a deep sleep (after 15 minutes of ignition being off and no other activity), it often no longer detects the PB.  You need to reload the firmware to get it to be recognized again.  Anything under the 15 minutes, never a problem.

Suspect it has something to do in the BMW head end but not sure.  Any Ideas???

I don't have a definitive answer, but to help anyone else answer, you might want to post whether you have the navigation option or not (and, if outside the US, which navigation option). If you have navigation, post the part number for the radio module (it is in the trunk).
