I have a shiny new TOSHIBA HDD2D08 (MK1032GAX) 100GB 5400 RPM 16MB Cache ATA-6 Notebook Hard Drive, with a spare 10GB DMS, a USB 2.0 cradle, and a spare PC.  I will now begin the process; I will be utilizing the Bootable CD Rom drive.  I will let you know my thoughts, experiences, etc.  I've backed up my Series 1 Tivo via Linux; how much harder can this be?

Wish me luck!

Uhm, please tell me it can't really be this easy.  Maybe I'm just lucky, but it's done!  It even copied over my VOIT Plugin folder!  I'm so scared - it really can't be this easy, right???

zero cool

Please, post a how to with simple step 1, step 2 type description on your process. Detail it out as much as possible. that way newbies and even techy geeks like me can understand it hahahahahah

Sometimes its the simple things that are hard to understand!

;D  It's already been done by the kind folks at this site!  I just followed this, letter for letter and had ZERO problems.

It's a very well done piece of documentation!  I can now play both "signed" and "unsigned" drives in my Keg!

I just got in my CX-910, complete with a 10GB DMS, VOIT, and the AAC plugin!  Also all cables, cradle, etc.

So now I'm going to perform the hack once again so I can use my 100GB drive.

Hopefully it'll just be as simple as last time!

The 910 is now hacked.  Some notes:

There wasn't any audible when it was complete.  I just gave it about 8 minutes, powered the system off, then tried plugging in a hacked DMS cartridge.  Worked like a champ.

I love you all! :) ;) :) ;)
