I reinstalled PMM after reinstalling my operating system but I can't seem to download PMM version 2.30 from phatnoise.  I filled out the form on the site and received the e-mail with the link and I get a message:

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /products/software/PMM_2.30_PHATNOISE_WWW.exe on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I also tried to update through PMM and it cannot find the update server.

Does anyone know whether you can still download the updates from phatnoise.com?  If not, is it available anywhere else?

The Phatnoise download servers frequently go down, which is why you cannot download Music Manager or update.  I just tested it and the link for MM 2.30 is indeed broken.  The link for Media Manager (which I do not recommend) is working.  The link you need will eventually be working again, but you should send an e-mail directly to Phatnoise to point out the problem.

Well, I am not sure what the problem was.  They have changed the filename compared to what it was about a year ago, but tht was not your problem.

This just worked for me

It is working for me today.  Thanks...

Wait, you guys use Music Manager vs Media Manager?  Any particular reason?

Also, anyone have a workaround for using either with Windows x64?

Some use it because they find it more stable.  Others because it will work with 160GB DMS cartridges (Media Manager is limited to 127GB because of its built-in drivers).

Sorry - can't answer the Win x64 question.

FYI on the >120GB drives, I currently have the newest version of Phatnoise Media Manager working on my 160GB DMS in Windows XP x64 -- don't know if it would work in non 64-bit yet but I assume it would.   They may have fixed the bug with larger drives...  I believe to get the newest PMM to work, you do have to have the keys on the drive (first 1MB from a valid DMS) since I got the error of being unable to find the keys with one 20GB Fake DMS but the 160GB is working fine.   I'll look into it more if somebody else encounters different results.

anybody have a copy of the PMM 2.30 software and/or another working link?  the link above seems to be broken again ;-(

As far as I can tell all the PMM links are broken. :(

Sam, if to use a 160 or larger shouldn't we still be copying keys in the scripts?

That should be up for at least a week.

I don't know if that was really the problem -- and haven't really tested it to find out

BTW, got an email from phatnoise support... and the download forms for PMM 2.x/3.x are working again as of yesterday...
