Kenwood Keg in Skoda
« on: November 28, 2006, 04:10:54 pm »
Hi Folks,

I'm a newbie in the fourm so please forgive me if this has been asked before. I have done a few searches and found no answer.

Please can anyone let me know if it is possible to use a UK Kenwood Keg (710) with the original headunit in a Skoda Octavia Eligance 1.9TDI (05 model).

I'm not 100% who makes the unit in the Skoda or the model number. I just know it was factory fitted and has a 6 disc CD changer in the boot.

If it is possible what would be involved, flashing firmware and making a custom interface cable?

Hope someone can assist me as I would hate  :'( to lose my keg.

Thanks in advance,

John

Hi Judb,

I did read this post before posting but thought that was talking about a US Phatnoise rather than a Keg. I know there almost identical.

Curious if there is a Skoda firmware for the keg.

a Music Keg IS a Phatbox, there is no difference except for the normal difference between different revisions.

There's not a 'Skoda' firmware but there could be one that works... find out what protocol it talks and what else talks that same protocol
