does anyone know what the option port on the khd-cx910 keg is for or what can be done with it..

AFAIK that is a power connector. :-*

kenwood install directions say for future use what would it be to power another device or is it there because its used on other models

I believe it is there in case you need to remove Power from the main cable. :-*
