Title: Anyone Hacked the Excelon Keg ?
Post by: christox on August 14, 2005, 09:32:19 am
Hi!

I have an Excelon Keg in my car. Here in Europe it's hard to get a bigger OEM DMS.
Has anyone hacked without Problems ?
I'd like to purchase a 60 gig Notebook drive.
My firmwareversion is 13.01

Thanks for any answer!!

Greets, Chris

Yes you can hack it. The only problem you may have is the hack boot disc doesn't seem to support the usb 1 kenwood cradle right. So you will have to do the manual method. I did all 4 of mine with no issues.

I did mine with a 1.1 cradle, had no problems.  I didn't use the full hack disk, but I did do it from linux.... my second Keg is Excelon

Ok, Thanks!!!

Anyone found a way to get VIOT Without the expensive ATT voices? I only need the search-function because it would be a problem to handle 60 gigs of Songs without subfolders!

No you cannot get VOIT to work without having a working copy from phatnoise..  You can however get non Kegs that are flashed to work as kegs to use the VOIT by using the method on the wiki ...

We don't / wont help anyone steal, we just responded to consumer demand for larger drives at a reasonable cost when phatnoise opted not to... ;)

Not that I am implying you are trying to STEAL.. but VOIT comes with AT&T Natural Voices.. you could contact phatnoise and see if they will make you a cheaper VOIT offer without AT&T Natural Voices.. but I wouldn't hold my breath.  They tend not to respond to customers requests for simple things to save money on things we don't feel we need.

Good luck...
