Title: firmware?
Post by: Anton on September 04, 2006, 04:37:19 pm
Can someone please explain.  In PMM options for DMS Firmware, there is an advanced key.  This allows selection of which box one is running.  What does this do.  I had the correct firmware selected for my headunit, but the wrong box.
Should've been:
Vw/Audi firmware
Vw/Audi phatbox

instead it was:
Vw/Audi firmware
Platinum Ed. Phatbox

is this a problem?

The PMM software tends to default to the Phatbox Platinum Edition.  As far as I can tell, that is the case if downloaded the software from the Phatnoise website.  It should not matter, unless you actually download the wrong firmware and then put the DMS with mismatched firmware into your phatbox.

Mark,
thanks for the reply.  I never used the wrong firmware.  I did download the PMM software from Phatnooise, so that explains the Platinum Edition thing.  However, I am still having trouble with the new DMS after the Hack.
