Title: Phatbox with BMW Z4 hard-top convertible (2011)

Would anyone out there happen to know if my new Z4 will accept my trusty Phatbox from my 2005 330i? I expect that I will need a new protocol converter (DSP?), but are there connectors for the external CD drive that I plug into?

I've removed your other two duplicate posts, as the message text was exactly the same as this one.

Regarding your question, it depends on whether your car has an i-Bus interface for a CD changer or something new. BMW transitioned from the i-Bus to the MOST bus (fiber optic based) at various times, depending on the model. I'd expect the i-Bus to have been phased out by the time your Z4 was built, but I'm not up-to-date on newer BMW models.
