Title: Installing PMM w/ Voice support on Vista
Post by: UnaBOnger on March 03, 2007, 09:09:48 PM
Hi, Need some assistance getting Phatnoise Media Manager to work in Vista with voice prompts...

I found a post here somewhere in which someone created a file that worked around the ATT NV installing on anything other then XP, BUT I cant seem to get it to work within PMM. I get an error stating "speak failed 1%, could not generate voice prompts"

My current work around is to run XP in a VM but it's such a PITA... There has to be a better way...

Any help is appriciated,

Thanks :)

Someone mentioned this to me as I've been trying to get it to work with Vista but I haven't tried this method. Post here if you find that it works I haven't had the time to play with it yet.

It was really quite simple... I'd be happy to share the edited .msi with you which was 98% of the work  :P

Shoot me a PM if I can help

Please do not distribute the MSI -- feel free to make a binary patch against the original MSI or a script to do the modifications and distribute that

You would have to get approval from who ever holds the copyrights for the MSI (AT&T for example) to distribute it.. otherwise the board could get served with a DCMA take down and we'd be in a pretty nasty spot.
