Title: how many discs maximum?
Post by: pow3rslave on March 05, 2007, 07:10:31 AM
after endless woes with formatting my DMS i was just in the process of adding all the MP3files back onto it, but all of a sudden it had an error about too many discs to be added  (max 999) and crashed PMM.

i thought i remembered having more than 999 on my old DMS cartridge, or am i just crazy?

otherwise is there a way of doing this?

Per the Phatnoise Knowledge Base, in theory you can have up to 10,000 discs, each with 10,000 tracks, so you shouldn't be getting stopped at 999.

Maybe there's a limit to how many you can add to the DMS in one session?  Are you trying to add 1,000 or more in one fell swoop?  Try adding 900, then Save/Eject, and then try another 900 and see what happens.

Hope it helps,
Ken

What version of PMM?  You may need to get a newer one

I think the 1.X pmm had that limit.

There is a theoretical limit of 30,000 tracks on the DMS.  With 999 playlists, you must have a huge number of tracks.  Is it possible you've gone over the 30,000?
