Following the steps on the wiki, I have hacked my phatbox for Audi... Everything works fine currently as long as it is an mp3, but aac files (mp4a) do not play; I get the "need aac decoder" message whenever a track is cued.
I have copied the plugin file from my original DMS to the new one, and I have deleted the plugins.dat file as suggested in another thread...
I have also returned to phatnoise media manager to plug in the AAC code that I paid for, but it give me the following message: "Firmware Incompatible: Can not install Plugin." Media manager states that I have version 7.02. Any help would be greatly appreciated... Thanks!
replace the files on your phtsys drive aadec and aadec.sig with the aadec-hacked and aadec-hacked.sig that are in C:\dmsutils\phtsysfiles\patched (from the dmsutil folders).
(back up the original files and copy these into place and rename them to the original file names) This SHOULD make your plugins work.
Thank you very much for the suggestion, but unfortunately I still get the "need AAC decoder" warning... I also tried to reinstall the plugin after swapping the files with the original code from media manager but it still says "firmware incompatible."
I would be grateful for any more ideas you may have...
thanks
PS--in media manager under properties, it says that I have the AAC encoder... maybe the flash disabled the drives ability to use it?
find me on IRC and I may be able to help you

I had a problem with all of my plugins from Phatnoise. I don't use AAC so I really don't need that one but I believe there were at least one more. I can't remeber what it was.
Any updates on this? I'm thinking of doing the hack soon and I'm wondering if I should expect to lose my AAC decoder once I do the hack.
my aac plugin works just fine. so does VIOT.
