Title: Phatnoise Music Manager 2.30 and non-original DMS (Not responding)
Post by: grymster on October 13, 2007, 04:59:56 AM
When I try to open DMS in PMM it just stucks on :
"Initializing PhatNoise DMS[99%]"
"Reading playlists..."
and I lose access to PHTDTA partition from other programs.
And at the same time (after reconnecting DMS) Phatnoise DMS Doctor shows:
"The DMS Passed All Tests".
Sometime, maybe 1 from 50, PMM opens DMS normal.
Also "chkdsk" does not show any issues with HDD.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

I think I found solution:
Before open DMS in PMM I have to do defragmentation PHTDTA disk.
But I'm not sure how long it will help.

It could also be the non-presence of CurrentProperties.XML.

I think when this started appearing with the new DMS tools, my problems with the DMS not being seen by PMM 3.92 disappeared and the DMS initialises correctly from the off.

I know you used recent versions of the tools, but for future reference anyone running the new DMS tools from version 2.5 onwards should be okay.
