Title: Randon not Random
Post by: DiabloZoe on April 07, 2008, 12:04:25 AM
Is there a way to make the system play random meaning if I hit the forward button it selects the next song randomly but if I hit the back button it will go to the last song that was played I can go back 5 songs if I wanted. So if I listen to a playlist and put it in random it will constantly play the same order of songs

The phatbox's 'random' is a known issue, but there's no real work-around right now.  We're on-and-off working on replacement Phatd and 51d programs, which we'd be able to fix that in.

Of course, going backwards in random would be something I'd still implement via a 'history' of songs randomly chosen.  I do like that feature.

on my music keg, if I go to random or DMS random mode, i can progress forward and backward within the "random" songs.

As I understand it, they take a list of songs and randomize a playlist and random mode or DMS random just plays songs through that playlist.

There were lots of arguments with the phatnoise folks over random because it seems to always play the same song first off of specific albums for example.

Do I understand correctly that you say you cannot use the track next and track previous to navigate to the song you just heard if you want to play it again?
