Title: Audi RNS-e and Phatbox
Post by: puckkk on May 04, 2008, 09:33:13 AM
Hello all. Just joined, but using the hack tools for a month and... they are great, I think. Anyway, I have a question and I cannot find an answer anywhere... I have now my phatbox mounted on my new S3 with the Naviplus RNS-E. Phatbox is working, but I can navigate through cds just with the voice prompts... I mean, the ID3 tags are not shown on my head unit, I can see just "CD1", "CD2" etc... "album 1", "album 2" etc, "track 1", "track 2", etc... Is an RNS-E limitation or what? Around internet someone says that the audi cd changer doesn't display cd text cause it doesn't have the can output, but I think the new rns-e have it... or not? Anyone know something about this?

Someone else with an Audi setup can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe it is a limitation of the Audi firmware for the Phatbox.  Only Kenwood (and maybe Sony?) Phatboxes display ID3 tags.  All other models use the TTS voices for track navigation.
