Title: New HD replacement for DMS - Advice please
Post by: Cyberman on December 14, 2009, 01:01:06 AM
just hacked my PB and looking to get a new HD. seems like the Samsung 160Gb IDE drives are the most common ones out there. Are they any good? Will they work well with the Phatbox/DMS in this new hacked environment? Any other suggestion for HD brand?

next, i need to know what i need to do to prep the HD. do i just replace the existing HD in the DMS unit and fire up DMS Hack Tools? Will it prepare all the partitions and add all the necessary files to Phtsys/Phtdata partitions? anything else i need to be aware of?

Yup, just use the "create new DMS", pick the head unit you have, and wait for the magic. ;D

cool!

any HD preferences? looks like Samsung 160Gb M5 Spinpoint has pretty good shock protection. might go for that...
