Title: unix.phatnoise.com removed???
Post by: chrleyer on August 05, 2005, 06:19:01 PM
Hi Folks,

first of all big big thanks to the PhatHack Forum, which collected fantastic info here. I have still a 80Gig Upgrade of my DMS in the queue.

Only some interesting, what I found during my collection of the tools:

Phatnoise removed the http://unix.phatnoise.com/ Link.

I think, they try to interfere the things running here.

What do you think?

Ciao Christian

well, you can't go to that main address, but it'll work if you go to a specific page
ex:
http://unix.phatnoise.com/bootdisk.php

They mention the disk images are under the GPL. So, do they contain Binaries and source, or are they breaking the GPL and there is no source on the disk.

Linksys had to release the source to much firmware due to something like that, and people can now run whatever they want on that box.

you can contact phatnoise and get a copy of the source I am pretty sure.

The kernel from the phatbox was released by them but it really had nothing to do with us hacking the box  Their protection was outside of the kernel and pretty effective.
