Hello all.
Been having major problems with DMS tools v2.15 not connecting to retrieve firmware.
So far I've tried in Windows 10, 11 (plus compatibility modes) and XP. I've looked at security settings and allowed the app through the Firewall, checked that I have .Netframework turned on in Windows Features but I'm getting nowhere. DMS tools recognises the DMS no problem, but there are no firmware options in the drop down menu.
I also tried running the software in MXLinux using WINE which did connect to retrieve the firmware but would not recognise the DMS! (think this might be a USB issue with WINE because Linux mounts the DMS fine.)
So close but so far! I've tried the above with the 2 cradles I have (1.1 and 2.0) and no luck.
Can anyone help please? Is there something obvious I'm missing / not doing? I've looked through the forums but there doesn't seem to be a solid answer (although I'm more than happy to be corrected).
All I want to do is reflash a DMS that's not booting with the original software and reflash the box. The DMS is an original with its original drive and is recognised in Phatnoise Music Manager. I'd like to start from a working original system before changing hard drives with the hack procedure.
Any pointers would be very much appreciated, preferably before I pull out my own hair!!
