I've downloaded PMM 3.76. I opened it, got the message to register on the PhatNoise website, and done so. Clicked on the register.pmm file, the program opens and I get another message to register. This continues ad infinitum.
According to the PhatNoise Knowledge Base:
"This problem is usually caused by a pop-up blocker. Click (here) to register the PhatNoise MEDIA Manager." And all that does is the same thing.
I've disabled all pop-up blockers, shut down my firewall and antivirus, closed every possible running process and I still get stuck in the same circle. I just can't register it. I'm running Music Manager 2.3 without any problems.
PhatNoise customer service, needless to say, has not responded to my query about this. Any ideas?
I think something is going on with phatnoise's web servers ... firmware downloads are hosed too. Try calling their offices around 1 or 2 pm PST next week and see if you can get anyone on the phone.
I finally got an answer from PhatNoise, and it sorted the problem. In case anyone else has a problem registering Media Manager, this is the solution:
Open regedit
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > PhatNoise, Inc. > PMM
Look for a key labeled Reg_Status.
If this key is not present, on the right side of the screen, right-click
anywhere in the white area and select New>DWORD value. Name the key
Reg_Status.
Right-click Reg_Status and select Modify. Change the Value data to "2"
(no quotes). Press "Ok". You should now be able to run the PMM.
Thanks man, it really helped me, sine support e-mail from phatnoise does give a dam about us
