Anyone want to order an eval copy of bluecat linux?
Linux version 2.4.18-rmk3-crypt1 (vince@beach.hq.phatnoise.com) (gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (release)) #8 Tue Nov 9 11:59:12 PST 2004
This the the kernel version for the latest keg software release.
anyone want to guess what the rmk3-crypt1 tells us?
rmk - Russell King
he writes kernel patches for the ARM linux kernel it seems.
as for the crypt1
As you can guess thats some kernel patch for crypto support, but i cant decide which one it is yet.
There are several encrypting file systems out there but as far as i can tell, unless that little set of sectors is a hidden disk parition they somehow force mount as an encrypted filesystem I dont think thats where this -crypt stuff came from.
Who was it that has the kernel source from Phatnoise? Can you please post it to an FTP or email it to me or something?
This was posted here a bit back:
QuoteYou may download the source code from this ftp site:
ftpup.phatnoise.com
username: ftpup
password: phatguest
The filename is phatlinux-for-V1.tar.bz2.
"crypt" is the handle of the PhatNoise empolyee (Brendan) who customized the kernel for the PhatBox. As you can see from the source, it doesn't refer to any sort of crypto patch.
yeah, i see that now. :) I didnt have the source when I posted that.
He also goes by Cryptnotic. Use that to search the internet and you can read about this twenty something year olds Mercedes and pad in Malibu.
See what 400% markups can do! ;)

I doubt they ship enough at that price to pay people for a pad in malibu.. its the license-bling from kenwood that brings in some $$$ I'd bet. I mean a large portion of Kenwoods new headunit lineup has SSA or whatever they are calling it now.
I guess I should've made the winky face bigger.
