Title: AAC Plugin on Multiple DMS's
Post by: Wigan on March 28, 2006, 02:39:48 AM
I just bought the AAC decoder plugin and installed it on my primary DMS.  But when I went to install it on my Secondary DMS, the install errored saying I already used the plugin.

Is there any why to install the AAC decoder plugin on multiple DMS carts?

The only way I could find was to buy a second one from Phatnoise

I thought you could install it on multiple DMS as long as they were both for the same PhatBox

Exactly. You only need to purchase/install it again if you have another Phatbox/Keg. Once you activate it on a Phatbox (not DMS - the DMS is just the activation installation mechanism), it remains activated for any DMS you insert.

Just copy the plugin directory from the first DMS to the new DMS and it should work..

Ill try that, but I was getting a plugin not found when I used the other DMS.  I tried to copy the plugin directory, but then the DMS wouldnt boot.

The only way I could get it to work was if the DMS had the updated aadec.

Would having a hacked PhatBox make a difference in it not working by simply copying the Plugin directory to another DMS?

check to make sure that aadec on the working dms matches the one on the new DMS.  if it does not, copy the aadec off the working dms along with the .sig file and see if that helps.

also try copying the plugin directory but removing the plugin.dat file after the copy.
