Title: 2007 BMW
Post by: pinkfrost on November 07, 2006, 07:15:44 am
Hi, I just joined and hope this is the right forum for this question.  Has anyone successfully installed a Phatbox to a new 2007 335i Logic sound sytem?  Phatnoise support said no go.  I don't want to get rid of my Phatbox. I love it.

thanks

I believe that it does use MOST, and if so that means no Phatbox integration is possible.

Yes, it is MOST-based. It might be possible to get a MOST-to-Alpine adapter and a new-Alpine-to-old-Alpine adapter, and connect the Phatbox / BMW adapter to this. However, that's an awful lot of adapters / converters and places for things to act up.

If the headunit interface firmware in the 805x ever gets figured out, it should be possible to emulate other types of changers, and then all you'd need would be a MOST-to-whatever adapter.

Has anyone found out if there is any change to this?  I can't keep my 2002 530i for much longer, and BMW says there is no way to hook up the PB to the system.  There has got to be a way!

Give me your old car and I'll make it work ;)

You could use a Kenwood FM Adaptor to pipe it in over the antenna wire.... but then you'd also have to install the controls somewhere
