Who are these guys???????
« on: September 28, 2005, 11:49:22 am »
Anyone come across these guys?

http://www.phatnoiseuk.co.uk

Doesnt seem to be any link from the official pn website and the only payments accepted are via paypal. Seems a bit dodgy to me?

Looks like they are also listing on ebay (5812341676 & 5812342447) no history (feedback), but strange advert???

Seems like someone going through a lot of trouble to try and seem legit. I didn't see any copyright or trademark references anywhere on the site and they also didn't mention the PMM software at all.
Probably someone who bought up a bunch of units and is trying to seem like an authorized dealer. Their eBay ID has also recently been changed. Several times.  Suspicious.

They certainly were blatant in their lifting of material directly from the US Phatnoise site and liberally using the Phatnoise name. Either they are very brave (and stupid), or they are a sanctioned arm of Phatnoise.

Considering that HK just paid money for Phatnoise, I doubt that they would let this kind of activity stand unless they were a part of it.

On the flip side, the domain is registered to "New Age Marketing", through TuCows. I strongly doubt that they are legitimate partners with HK.

My thoughts - (although I have no personal experience of dealings with these people).

They don't give an address, nor a phone number.  Without these, they could be anybody, anywhere.

I would advise considerable caution.  While the site looks like it is professional, it would not make me part with any cash.

Les.

I just spent 20 minutes checking the site very carefully.
Spotted 34 spelling mistakes already. I think that says enough?????
