Hi, I'm looking to keep my 120GB Phatbox.  However, the Pioneer AVIC series of head units seems to offer best bang for buck integrated NAV unit for my Audi.

The Audi RNS-D & E series HUs seem to be overpriced with lack of map upgrades (RNS-D discontinued).

I'd like to know if anybody has managed to get any of the AVIC series Head Units to control the Audi Phatbox unit.

I've posted on Audiworld and also on AVIC411.com

TIA.

I doubt that you will get a positive reply.  Phatnoise designed but never released a firmware for Pioneer head units.

If you're sold on the AVIC, you'll have to go the iPod/USB route, or get a Z3 and upgrade the hard drive.  You could get a Kenwood FM modulator to control the Phatbox with the AVIC, but that's a cumbersome option.
