Repeated hacking
« on: June 27, 2006, 11:23:24 pm »
I have a VW box that came with the 20GB DMS and I'm interested in hacking for larger storage now.

If I first hack the DMS with say a 40GB drive, how do I upgrade again with say a 120GB drive in the future?

In my search of the forums, I've learned that you can some how save the 1st MB signature part of the partition to your computer's hard drive and use it as a "seed" for future hacks.  How is this done exactly and how do you do the future hacks?

Thanks in advance.

You should not need that with anything but the first couple versions of the patcher.  All you need for a new drive, is to use the phatnoise firmware repair cd on it or use the hack cd to format it as fat32, then load firmware using PMM
