KHD-910 keg repair update
« on: March 30, 2009, 05:59:57 pm »
Hi all

Just an update on a previous post, it seems my 910 keg wasn't broke.

through some serious head scratching and pondering, seems it was a headunit issue, a KDC-X990
it seems that the power for the keg provided through the data cable wasn't enough voltage/current for the keg to operate.

So I modified and added an external power source on the keg, the keg came back to life.

1 may look at the voltage/current issue if others quit working

I upgraded to a KDC-X991 (2008 unit) and the keg works just fine.

my current setup is
KDC-X991 headunit
902 sirius receiver
x542 amp
all wired through a 210 switch

Thanks to those that helped
Steve
KDC-X991 USB HU, Sirius 902, Excelon 542 4 ch amp,  910 Keg, 100 and 160 GB DMS, Excelon 87 CD Changer, all through a 210 switch

Just a note that the x991 is a 2007 originated unit (wasn't upgraded in 2008 - 2009 version is the x993)
