Please help me......
« on: March 20, 2015, 12:21:30 am »
Hi Guys,

Ive been trawling the net trying to find help with a Kenwood keg Ive just bought and found this website.

Im close to just binning the whole lot as ive wasted hours trying to figure out why it wont work.

All Im trying to do is to get Windows 7 to recognise the Phatnoise USB 2.0 cradle.

I have a brand new 12v 2000mA power adaptor running it, when I plug the cartridge in the red light comes on and then the green light comes on for about 2 seconds and goes out and then everytime the message comes up on my PC that the device is not working etc etc

Is there a driver I can download from anywhere? am I using the wrong power adaptor?

This is driving me nuts!!!

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I have it working in Windows 7. Ths system recognises the cradle without any problem. Th software is another question... I haven't found a way to drag and drop music to the DMS, always have to create .m3u playlists and import them.

Anyway, you should try with a Windows XP system, just to verify it works. An easy way is deploying Windows XP Mode: it's a completed licensed Windows XP running inside Virtual PC. Just look for it in Microsoft site. Once installed you can start the WXP machine and connect the cradle to it. Anyway, if your W7 system doesn't recognise the DMS partitions you can't connect them to XP...

Hi everybody,

At one point after a Windows update, even Xp stopped supporting the USB 2 craddle. Take the hdd out of the craddle, and attach the hdd to a idee to USB 3 converter.

The only problem you come across is that ejecting the disc right obstructed by an other program.
Ignore this warning and try to remove the USB drive safely in Windows.

When this is not succesfull just pull out the USB plug, put the cartrigde together again and go.
