Hi, recently my dms is giving me an error when trying to save/eject on the music managaer. The error message says "the request could not be performed because of an I/O device error". Does anyone know what that might be? I tried hacktools but that would not work either.

Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like the disk could be on it's way out.  Try running a chkdsk on it, and if that fails a low-level diagnostics check will probably confirm the disk is on its last legs.

It's also possible there's a problem with the cradle, so if you want to rule that out you could try getting hold of a 3.5" to 2.5" adaptor cable to power the drive connected directly to a PC.
