I accidentally had a weak drunken moment and ordered an 80GB DMS from phatnoise..

- but this is an advantage to the rest of you because if sod's law works correctly, the second i open the box, you will have worked out how to upgrade the DMS for free...! ;-)

First of all, Congratulation MarkH.  I'm still some steps away doing the same.

My path of research in the internet passed me thru a forum, reading something about a broken Fujitsu HD and the possibility to recover the drive with a firmware upgrade program and the actual firmware backup.

Does someone has experience on that?  I'm still looking for the name of this tool, for the PhatBox FW as well.

Sure, thats a different way, than what we discussing here usually, like a patch in the SW.
