I have a failed hack, tried the disconnect several times.  I got the opening message every time, but after about one or two reboots it started playing my playlist, but choppy.   I backed up the dms before I tried anything and I have the files.   How can I manually put them back to restore my DMS.   Do I need to reflash the phatbox too?   Any help is appreciated!

Run the DMS tools, to perform a 'firmware upgrade'.

Select the correct firmware version for your box (the one already installed on your box) and ensure the option 'Install non-hacked firmware' is checked, and the option 'Reflash box' is unchecked.

Post a copy of any log files you have too... your box may actually already be hacked?

Thanks for the reply!  I have attached the wizard log file.    The phatbox is now working un-hacked but I would like to get it hacked:)

Attached! see, one person on the boards is smart enough to find the "attach" button instead of pasting EVERYTHING inline.

I'd give you a prize but I can't think of anything, you want a title?

Attach button...?

Sorry if this is a bit off-topic, but in 3.5 years on here I have never seen an attach button.   Nor have I ever seen any attachments to any messages - including the one above.

So - am I blind, stupid, missing a few marbles, or some combination of the three?   ???

VorTechS

You are with me Les,  I've seen the option and attachments before in the past... but for some reason I've gotten lost somewhere.  Could be an IE issue?

I normally use Firefox (3.0.5 currently) but have also tried IE 7 and makes no difference - just can't see it.

Where should I see it...?

VorTechS

Looks like there is a Javascript error, possibly causing this problem.
I've tried every single theme, and none show the attachments, so I guess it's no co-incidence.

Time for an update uncle Sam! ;)

Guys, when writing a post, to the bottom left of the text box there are "additional options."  Expand that option.  See it now?

I don't think adding the option is an issue.... it's seeing the attachment that is.
I never see attachments that have alledgedly been added to a post :(

I was wondering why this was locked, though we're well off the original topic.

Anyway, Les and Stuart, under "additional options" when either replying or posting a new topic, I have these options (which show up the same in Firefox and IE7 under XP and Vista at home, and even on my woefully outdated work computer):

Notify me of replies.
Return to this topic.
Don't use smileys.
Attach: (with a "browse" button to locate the file for attachment)

I can also see the attached file in wolfie's post.

What I do NOT have are the options to lock, sticky, or move the topic, which leads me to believe that it is not browser or java issue, but a moderator issue, since you guys are both moderators and I am not.  Possibly Sam forgot to code in the line for attachments for mods.

That's possibly true :)

But the attachment doesn't appear against the post either....

Did someone deliberately lock this topic? ;)  Unlocked.....

Ooops!  It might have been me pressing buttons with my eyes closed... (looking for attach)

Definitely loosing it...
