Okay so I have spent the last two weeks trying to get Windows7 up and running stable and all my hardware with it. Having an especially hard time trying to do it on a fresh RAID5 array.  During this process I seem to have misplaced my Music Manager CD. I still have my Media Manager CD and my Voice On Tap one, but from what I understand you need the original to install any updates.  I JUST now noticed that there appears to be some sort of replacement software written by hand on this forum. I might try that.

For you new Win7 people, I FINALLY got everything working by downloading virtual XP and "XP Mode" and installing everything there.  Somehow Win7 (I am running the 64bit flavor) can then see the hardware andyou can run software directly from Win7 without the emulator running (I think, haven't gotten that far).

Am I at a total loss if I can't find my CD?  I am almost positive it is around, I think it made it into the "drawer of death" which is probably hundreds of cds many unlabelled and no filing system.  Either that or it rolled under a piece of furniture or something I have yet to find.

Simply sign up at http://phatnoise.us and check out the downloads section for the 'NO ACTIVATION' versions of the application!

I've got PMM 3.92 running in Win7 32bit on a PhatHacked DMS.  I have to assume your issue was the 64bit OS.  XP Mode is a cool feature for Win 7 Business or Ultimate users who have a virtualization capable processor, though.  It's actually running via MS Virtual Machine, but once you install an app there you can access it directly from the Win7 OS.  Wish I could run it, but my outdated PC doesn't support virtualization.

Anybody know if PhatNoise is officially out of business and the software can safely be distributed legally yet?  I'd like to post the downloads on here...

PhatNoise is obviously owned by Harman.  Whilst PhatNoise are no longer a 'trading business', I cannot find anything on the SEC which indicates that PhatNoise as an entity no longer exists.

I had a look into Copyright agreements as a result of what you were asking:

Quote
What is the duration of a copyright?
For works created in the United States, on or after January 1, 1978, copyright extends through the life of the author plus 70 years.

...which includes software (source: http://lib.gccaz.edu/lmc/help/copyrightguide.html)

I fired off an e-mail to Harman to see if we can get some intelligent life to answer some questions....

right but there is something on software that says if it's completely not supported or sold it can be given away by a 3rd party... I don't recall exactly where it is.

Regarding the media CD. I still haven't found it and although the image at the site listed above installs, there are several decompression errors I get. I have tried redownloading it as well as running from a CD and a mounted image.  The apps seems to work though.

I have been trying all weekend (and all week off and on) to get everything working in Windows7(64 bit).  After much ado the OS will see the drives but it takes a while for them to show up.  Media manger is running okay it seems and has loaded my local library.  However it will not "see" the DMS.  It doesn't seem to matter if the app is running when the DMS is inserted (or eventually recognized).  I may be at a dead end here but I think I will eventually get it all working. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Edit:
Phathack tools WILL see the cartridge but I can an error (cannot convert integer to string) every time I attempt to run a repair.  Might be a 64 bit thing.

Edit:
When I start Media Manger it attempts to find the device then I get an error in G:\currentsetup.xml.  G is my DMS of course.  When I try to edit the XML file I an error that I cannot open the file.
