Volume is inconsistent when announcing category

Anyone else have this?...When I browse one of the categories, like artist, the volume sometimes is louder than was when it was playing.  The voice announcing the artist is louder and the song starts louder till it switches back to track mode.  It doesn't happen all the time but occasionally.  

Anyone got any ideas if this is a problem or a quirk?  I can live with it but I hope it's not an indication of more problems to come.

I've had the same issue with my PB in my Passat Wagon.  I've had the issue for over a year, but have not spent much time troubleshooting it.

That said, the fact that I have been operating fine for over a year tells me it's not a symptom of a larger problem.
