I used the boot disk and got to the point where you switch the HD. I took the DMS out of the cradle and put it in my car. I didn't realize til later that I had the volume all the way down, so I didn't hear any voice prompts. I  was able to play songs of the 2nd playlist, but am not sure if the DMS/Phatbox were correctly installed.

What happens now is whenever I put the DMS in my car, I get a 'check disc message' the red and green lights flash and nothing happens. I have a 20GB disc I use regulary and a 10GB, the one I used the boot disc on, and now, no matter which DMS I put in, either the 20GB I haven't touched, or the 10GB I used the boot disc on, all I get is a 'check disk' message on my head unit, with the red and green lights flashing intermittently.

I tried chkdsk, and I can use PMM to change/delete songs as needed. But when I put either DMS in my car, all I get is the check disc message.

I tried unplugging the Phatbox, then inserting both of the DMS cartridges, but that still didn't  solve the problem.

So now I'm not sure what to do. Is there a way to 'reset' the Phatbox? Should I complete the process of the hacked DMS and see what happens?   Is there a way to undo all the changes so I can start from square one again? Both discs play in PMM without any problems.

Also, when you do the hack, can you use an original DMS in the Phatbox, or will the PB only recognize hacked DMS, so I have to hack my original DMS?

thanks!

search the forums for corrupt ramdisk.sig

you have to rename that file and copy another file in its place.  The patch is only part way complete so you have to do this and re run the patch.  Then both drives will work.

Worked like a charm. My 80GB is up and running now. Thanks a bunch!
